El Castillo Luxury Boutique Hotel-

Just wonderful. Staff friendly and the food was amazing. We would go back for dinner even if we were just in the srea and not staying at the hotel. Bed very comfortable. Massage excellent and she changed her availabikity to fit mine. No complaints at all!

My wife and I spent three wonderful days, wish we had stayed longer. Roxie and Carlos were both awesome. The views are incredible and the room was outstanding. Would definitely recommend. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

We were in Ojochal area for a 20th wedding anniversary celebration. 5 stars is not a high enough rating!!!! This 14 room exquisite adult only boutique hotel is a hidden gem. THE STAFF: Ever want and need was anticipated, and delivered by the most professional and personable staff....and always with a smile. We began to feel that Francisco was our personal caretaker and along with Carlos, Grieving, Roxie and the manager, Rebecca tended expertly to our every need. Regrettably, we really challenged our housekeeper by unintentionally dragging masses of sand from our clothes to our room....which she made vanish without a whisper. The chef created meal after meal....each better than the last. Seriously fabulous food! On the morning of our last day, we asked them to host a celebratory lunch for the anniversary group. Without a blink, they agreed, called in extra workers and 4 hours later served 30 of us full menu lunch and cocktails! THE HOTEL: In our beautifully decorated 2 room suite, with full living room and a bathroom shower, big enough for a family of 4, we had balconies on both ends of our room. The best one being the balcony with expansive view of the infinity pool and the spectacular rising and falling tides of Boca Coronada. The intimate and welcoming lobby area had inviting and comfortable couches under fans circulating the fresh open air with the open dining room adjacent. Many of these mountainside hotels in this area are quite challenging to reach because of the steep and often unpaved roads.. This property access, however, was gentle in comparison to many others. It's just one minute off the main road (Rt 34) and fairly easy. My only regret......that I didn't take advantage of the spa options.

I loved the trip and the hotel. It was beautiful and a perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature and go on day trips of adventures! The hotel staff were truly amazing! The chef and the two gentlemen (servers and bartender) in the evening were always helpful, friendly and kind to my sister and I . I would definitely go back to that particular spot ! It's where I discovered a glass frog!!!

Great facility, even better staff. The grounds are beautiful and the pool was perfect after daytime adventures. Even though the on site restaurant was excellent, the staff was helpful in suggesting other restaurants and outside excursions. We stayed from 5 nights and couldn’t have asked for a better vacation.

This is a beautiful hotel. The infinity pool and the dining area truly are gorgeous. The staff is very nice and housekeeping is done without getting in your way at all. The breakfast is very well done with enough choices. The balcony was amazing and we saw Scarlet Macaws almost every day. That being said, there were a few things that weren't great. First, for a hotel of this price and caliber, you appreciate the additional touches. This started out great, I got an e mail before we arrived asking us if there were any requests that they could help us with. I thought, awesome - this was totally worth the splurge. I tried to book a massage before arrival. No response. I asked about it upon arrival - even stated what dates we wanted. I heard nothing else and this was never followed up on. I asked for help with dinner reservations before arrival - this was never followed up on. I did eventually get an e mail replying to my request, but by then we had checked in to the room, so I didn't need the help anymore. Not a super big deal, but I expected better for the price and the lead up about the personal service provided at this resort. The other downside, which is not fixable, is that the access road and the driveway are incredibly steep and I thought, downright hazardous at night. The parking at the top is tight - fortunately most rental cars in Costa Rica are small. The hotel has gorgeous views because it is basically on a cliff. And you get to drive up it. This also means that there is no place to take a walk in the morning or evening. You can definitely not walk to any beach from here. That may not matter to some, but we do enjoy a walk to check out the local flora and fauna. Basically a beautiful place, but we are unlikely to return.

We were treated very special, the resort is very welcoming, the ocean view and infinity pool are a wow. i hope to plan a girls spa getaway here. We had a coati outside our balcony, lots of birds, and best meals ever! Thank you for our special visit

The El Castillo exceeded our expectations! You can make your stay what you want. Relaxing? Go no further. Adventure out. They have a great list. Don’t miss the Kokopoli Mangrove Boat Tour, Playa Ventana Beach and caves, close by waterfall pool. The staff was exemplary; from Roxy enthusiastically running out to greet us, to Carlos, dear Carlos, our server extraordinaire, along with Francesco and Greybean to Chef Jaffa. GM Rebecca picked a golden team for this calming place. Just how me yesterday and I miss them already!!

We LOVED this hotel. It's beautiful, has great food, check in was easy - but the service really made our stay great. They went above and beyond to take care of us, and the manager Rebeca was responsive (all hours!) to ensure this was the case. So highly recommended!
